So here is the first of our regular weekly articles, The Prefix. This article is designed for you to know all the things you need to know for the upcoming gameweek whether it be from the Friday press conference to the head to head record between the sides, ideal pub banter that your FPL adversaries will wonder just where you got that information from.

Put together by our resident Skybet columnist Adam Matues, he is a statistician extraodinaire and a keen FPL player. We hope this will become your first point of call for your gameweek and along with the various Fix tools at your disposal to fire you to managerial glory. Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal (12:45pm)

  1. Spurs have lost just one of their last six Premier League home games against north London rivals Arsenal (W3 D2 L1).
  2. Theo Walcott has scored four and assisted three goals in his last six Barclays Premier League appearances against Tottenham.
  3. Emmanuel Adebayor has scored more goals in north London derbies than any other player (10 – eight for Arsenal, two for Spurs). Adebayor is one of only two players to score for both sides in a north London derby along with Jimmy Robertson.
  4. Spurs and Arsenal have drawn 18 times in the Premier League, making it the most drawn fixture in the history of the competition.
  5. Tottenham have kept just one clean sheet in their last 32 Premier League matches against the Gunners.
  6. Arsenal have not managed back to back away wins in the Premier League this season and have only managed it once since January 2014.
  7. Tottenham have conceded the most penalties in the Premier League (6) while Arsenal have won the most (6).
  8. Olivier Giroud has scored five goals in his last six Premier League appearances.
  9. David Ospina has as many clean sheets in the Premier League this season as Wojciech Szczesny (3).
  10. Spurs are unbeaten in their last six Premier League home matches (W4 D2).


Aston Villa v Chelsea (15:00pm)

  1. There have been four red cards shown in the last two Premier League meetings between Villa and Chelsea at Villa Park.
  2. Jose Mourinho has a surprisingly poor record as a coach against Aston Villa at Villa Park in the Barclays Premier League with Chelsea (W0 D3 L2).
  3. Aston Villa and Newcastle United are the only two Premier League teams Jose Mourinho has visited with a Chelsea team without having at least one victory.
  4. Branislav Ivanovic made his Premier League debut against Aston Villa and has scored four goals in his last five Premier League starts against the Villans.
  5. Chelsea have won five and lost one of the last six Premier League meetings with Aston Villa.
  6. The Blues have lost just two of their last 15 Premier League away games (W9 D4 L2).
  7. Aston Villa have won just one of their last nine Premier league games at Villa Park (W1 D4 L4).
  8. The Villans have gone five hours and 42 minutes without a goal in the Premier League at Villa Park.
  9. This match will be Paul Lambert’s 100th Barclays Premier League game in charge of Villa. Only Alex McLeish (18%) has a lower win % than Lambert (25%) amongst permanent Villa gaffers.
  10. Aston Villa have netted the joint-fewest goals of any team after 23 matches of an English top-flight season (11 along with Leicester City 1977-78 & Derby County 2007-08).

Leicester City v Crystal Palace (15:00pm)

  1. Leicester have won just one of their last eight home Premier League games (W1 D2 L5).
  2. Crystal Palace have scored exactly two goals in their last three matches against Leicester City.
  3. These two sides have been fairly evenly matched in their league history, with the Foxes winning 18 times, Palace 17 and 14 draws.
  4. Crystal Palace have lost just one of their last six Barclays Premier League away games (W1 D4 L1).
  5. The Eagles have failed to score in five of their last seven away Premier League matches.
  6. Nigel Pearson’s side have netted just three goals in their last seven home Premier League games.
  7. Leonardo Ulloa has committed more fouls than any other Premier League player this season (44).
  8. Leicester City have won none of their last 16 Premier League matches against London clubs (W0 D5 L11).
  9. Mile Jedinak has made the most interceptions in the Premier League this season (68).
  10. If Premier League games ended at half-time this season, Palace would be bottom of the table.


Manchester City v Hull City (15:00pm)

  1. Manchester City have won five and lost just one of their last eight league meetings with Hull City.
  2. Hull City have never won away against Manchester City in a league game (D3 L6).
  3. Edin Dzeko has scored three goals in his last two Barclays Premier League appearances against Hull City.
  4. Manuel Pellegrini’s side have conceded exactly two goals in each of their last three Premier League matches at the Etihad Stadium.
  5. Manchester City have gone 80 home matches since they failed to score in back to back home games, failing to net on only three occasions in that run.
  6. The Tigers have won just one of their last 11 Premier League away matches (W1 D4 L6).
  7. Hull City currently have fewer points after 23 games than they have in any of their previous three Premier league campaigns (19).
  8. Steve Bruce’s side have failed to score in 11 of their last 15 Premier League matches.
  9. David Silva has already equalled his best ever Premier League season goal tally (7, same as 2013/14).
  10. Manchester City haven’t gone four Premier League games without a win since November 2009 when the last game in that seven-match run was a home match versus Hull City.

Queens Park Rangers v Southampton (15:00pm)

  1. Defeat against Manchester United last time out at Loftus Road ended a run of seven unbeaten on home soil for QPR in the Barclays Premier League (W4 D3).
  2. Six of the last nine meetings between these two sides have resulted in away wins.
  3. Southampton have won three consecutive Premier League away games for the first time ever.
  4. Saints have only conceded nine goals in their last 13 Premier League away games and in that run, only Liverpool have managed to net more than once against them.
  5. QPR are the only Premier League side not to score a goal in the opening 15 minutes of a match this season.
  6. However, Rangers have netted a higher proportion of goals in the final 15 minutes of games (29%) than any other team in the top flight.
  7. Southampton have struck the woodwork more times than any other team in the Premier League this season (13).
  8. QPR have allowed more shots on target against them than any other team in the Premier League (128).
  9. Southampton have allowed the fewest shots on target against them of any top flight club (62).
  10. Joey Barton has been booked in his last five Premier League matches. Only two players have been booked in six consecutive appearances; Ciaran Clark for Aston Villa in 2010/11 while Cheik Tioté also got booked in six across 2010/11 and 2011/12.

Swansea City v Sunderland (15:00pm)

  1. Swansea haven’t lost back to back home matches at Liberty Stadium since January 2014.
  2. Sunderland have only won one of the seven Barclays Premier League meetings with Swansea (W1 D4 L2).
  3. After a five game unbeaten run on the road and four consecutive clean sheets, Sunderland have lost their last two Premier League away matches.
  4. The Swans have dropped more points from winning positions (16) than any other team in the top flight this season.
  5. Swansea have scored exactly one goal in eight of their last nine Premier League matches, failing to find the net in the other game in that run.
  6. Sunderland have earned more cards (58 yellow, one red) than any other team in the top flight.
  7. Of keepers to have made at least 10 saves, only Costel Pantilimon (78%) has a better saves to shots ratio in the Premier League this season than Lukasz Fabianksi (74%).
  8. The Welsh side have scored the joint-fewest headers in the Premier League this season; just one along with Aston Villa.
  9. Sunderland have scored more own goals this season than any other team (5).
  10. Just 15% of Swansea’s goals this season have come from set pieces; a league-low proportion.

Everton v Liverpool (17:30pm)

  1. This fixture has seen more red cards (20) than any other in Premier League history, but there have been none in the last six meetings – the longest run without one since 1996.
  2. Liverpool have lost only one of their last 16 Merseyside derbies in the Barclays Premier League (W8 D7 L1).
  3. Saturday's Merseyside derby will be Brendan Rodgers' 100th Barclays Premier League game in charge of Liverpool. He has won 53 drawn 24 and lost 22 of those matches. He has a win percentage of 54% which is second only to Rafa Benitez (55%) amongst Liverpool managers.
  4. Romelu Lukaku has scored four goals in his last five Premier League games against Liverpool.
  5. Daniel Sturridge has scored five goals in his last six Premier League appearances against Everton.
  6. Only against Newcastle United (6) has Daniel Sturridge score more Premier League goals than he has mustered versus Everton (5).
  7. Steven Gerrard has five goals and two assists in his last six Premier League appearances against the Toffees.
  8. Everton have won just three of their last 12 Premier League games at Goodison Park (W3 D5 L4).
  9. The Reds have won four of their last five Premier League away matches.
  10. Daniel Sturridge has now scored in five of his seven league appearances for Liverpool from the bench.

Sunday

Burnley v West Bromwich Albion (12:00pm)

  1. Burnley have scored just 11 goals in 12 Premier League home games this season, but four of those have been netted in the last two matches at Turf Moor.
  2. None of the last nine league meetings between Burnley and West Brom have ended as an away win (seven home wins, two draws).
  3. The Baggies have won none of their last six Barclays Premier League away games (D3 L3).
  4. West Brom have scored just eight goals in their last 16 Premier League away matches.
  5. West Brom have shipped the most goals in the opening 15 minutes of Premier League matches this season (9).
  6. The Clarets have conceded the most headed goals in the Premier League this season (12).
  7. Joleon Lescott has conceded more penalties than any other player this season (3).
  8. West Brom have scored the joint-fewest first half goals this season (eight along with Newcastle).
  9. Burnley have conceded the most first half goals this season (22).
  10. West Brom have netted a divisional high 55% of their goals from set pieces this season.

Newcastle United v Stoke City (14:05pm)

  1. Papiss Demba Cisse has scored four goals in six Barclays Premier League appearances against Stoke City.
  2. Jonathan Walters has scored four goals against Newcastle United, only against QPR (5) has he scored more often in the Premier League.
  3. The Potters have only won seven Premier League away matches under Mark Hughes (W7 D8 L16).
  4. Stoke currently have more points (32) then they have mustered in any previous Premier League campaign after 23 matches.
  5. The Magpies have scored the highest proportion of second half goals of any team in the top flight (72%).
  6. Stoke have scored the highest proportion of goals in the opening 15 minutes of matches this season (27%).
  7. Newcastle have scored more goals from players coming off the bench than any other team in the Premier League this season (9).
  8. Stoke have the lowest shooting accuracy in the top division with just 36% of their attempts finding the target.
  9. Newcastle are the only team in the Premier League yet to see an opposition player shown a red card this season.
  10. Stoke have conceded 46% of their goals from set pieces the highest proportion in the Premier League.

West Ham United v Manchester United (16:15pm)

  1. The Hammers have scored the most headed goals in the Premier League this season (14).
  2. Wayne Rooney has scored 10 goals in his last nine Barclays Premier League games against West Ham.
  3. Manchester United have won 11 and lost none of their last 12 Premier League matches against West Ham.
  4. Robin van Persie has scored in each of his last five Premier League games against west Ham, netting a total of six goals in that run.
  5. Manchester United are unbeaten in their last six Premier league away games (W3 D3).
  6. Sam Allardyce’s side have lost just one of their last 10 Premier League games at the Boleyn Ground (W7 D2 L1).
  7. Manchester United have lost just one of their last 20 Premier League games away in the capital (W12 D7 L1).
  8. The Hammers have scored more goals (10) than any other team in the Premier League in the 15 minutes just after half time.
  9. Only Chelsea (8) have scored more goals from corners than West Ham this season (7).
  10. Manchester United have used more players than any other team in the Premier League this season (31).
