DraftKings fantasy football is very similiar to Fantasy Premier League (FPL), but does not require full-time commitment like FPL as it offers year round games that you can play as little or as much as you want.
Here are our fix standout selections for the DraftKings' gameweek nine daily contest (Saturday 20th October):
Alisson looks like a very safe bet this week and the salary investment to include him in your sides is slightly less than that of Ederson given that he is playing away. However, Burnley could cause Man. City more problems than what Huddersfield should with Liverpool. We also like to concentrate on the amount of saves Goalkeepers are making given how the DraftKings' point scoring system works and he has made five more saves (18) than Ederson (13). When looking at available options for Saturday’s contest his DraftKings' fantasy points per game (FPPG) score of 10.8 so far this season also puts him ahead of DraftKings’ favourite, Ederson. Our Fix predicted points & stats feature suggests Arsenal have a 58% chance of a clean sheet, which places them ahead of Newcastle, Wolves, Cardiff, Newcastle, West Ham and Bournemouth who all have Goalkeeper’s featuring in Saturday’s contest. For additional informative data on Goalkeepers, see our bespoke DraftKings’ custom stats table here.
It is Wolves defensive assets that are delivering the goods more so than players from ‘top six’ clubs as of now. So far Doherty he has been weighing in with very impressive performances and is currently averaging 9.5 FPPG in DraftKings which is better than other pricier options for this week such as Alexander-Arnold (7.5), Robertson (7.4), as well as his counterpart Jonny (7.7). The Wolves right-back is posting some lovely numbers versus other standout selections for Saturday’s contest as shown in our custom stats’ table built for DraftKings’ scoring criteria below. Given that the DraftKings’ scoring format allows you to score 1 point per shot and 1 points per shot on target (SoT) the respective averages per game of 1.5 and 0.8 (equating to a total of 19 points over the first eight games) demonstrates why he has been scoring solidly this season. He is also joint-third for clean sheets among this list of 6 players from ‘top six’ clubs. For more data like this you can access this custom stats table here.
Sterling looks to be the pick of the bunch across all positions this weekend given his great underlying numbers. With DraftKings awarding 1 point for a shot and a further 1 point if it is on target, Sterling looks to be a selection we should all be squeezing into our lineups this week. The England international has averaged just 0.2 less shots on target than Salah – and the Egyptian’s numbers are monstrous. Sterling’s number of actual goals (averaging 0.6 a game) which score 10 points in DraftKings cannot be rivalled. Burnley look likely to concede goals in this one according to our predicted points & stats feature giving that the northern outfit have a miserable 9% chance of keeping a clean sheet. Man. City are expected to score 2.54 goals according to the same feature which ranks them first for team’s contesting on Saturday, ahead of Liverpool’s 2.11. For more comparisons to other outfield players see our custom stats table created specifically for DraftKings here.
Given that Agüero and Kane will eat up most of your budget we have opted for the more budget friendly Mitrovic for this Saturday’s contest. Mitrovic has averaged the joint-most shots on target over the first eight games with 1.6 per game, alongside Kane and only Agüero can topple the Serbian for average shots per game (4.8 vs 4.3) as can be seen in the info-graphic below of our custom stats’ table for DraftKings’ scoring criteria. DraftKings offers 1 point per shot, and an additional point for a SoT, so this bodes well for Mitrovic owners factoring in these impressive numbers. Looking across the same players shown below, the Fulham forward is also joint-first for average goals per games with 0.6, and considering 10 points are up for grabs for a goal this is what really boosts your chances of winning prize money. Agüero is a selection that looks good particularly as Cardiff have such bad projected statistics via our predicted points & stats feature. The Bluebirds only have a 32% chance of a clean sheet.
For those unaccustomed to this fantastic daily cash game, you are required to select eight players with a $50,000 salary cap. The structure is as follows;
GK -- D x2 -- M x2 -- F x2 -- UTIL (utility player)
The utility player can be either a D (Defender), M (Midfielder) or F (Forward) and will score points in the same way as the other selections. However, you will notice your budget has been spread thin, so, this is all about finding a hidden gem that could score well. For example, a defender that is not typically a big scorer but is playing against a team that struggle to score, therefore heightening the chance of (clean sheet, tackles won, passed intercepted etc.) points.
The format allows you the luxury of entering into a variety of contests including beginner tournaments/leagues, head to heads (against one other opponent), 50/50s (where you win if you finish in the top half) and many more.
The full scoring breakdown is as follows:
