In this blog, the Assistant Manager tool is used to determine the best Wildcard team for Gameweek 30 and beyond using Predicted Points & Stats.
The above team generated using the Assistant Manager feature takes into account the fixtures leading up to Gameweek 35. However, leaves out Gameweek 34 as many FPL managers who activate the Wildcard in 30 are looking to Free Hit that week. Gameweek 36 and 37 are not included as more fixtures are likely to be added to those weeks. The above team has £0.6m in the bank and should be affordable for most FPL managers.
Double Liverpool defence with Kelleher and Bradley appeals with Liverpool having three home games against Brighton, Sheff. Utd. and Palace between Gameweeks 30-33. No team has conceded fewer goals (12) in home matches than Liverpool this season.
As the below image from our Fixture Planner shows, Chelsea have the best fixtures for 'Defence Difficulty' over the next four Gameweeks which makes Gusto a great pick. Spurs also have two kind home fixtures against Luton and Forest and two Double Gameweeks likely between Gameweeks 35-37 which sees Porro make the squad.
Ake and Lascelles round off the defence with both teams likely to have a Double in Gameweek 37 for managers potentially looking to Bench Boost that week. Pickford will not have a double in 37 but plays Sheff. Utd. at Goodison Park that week.
The Algorithm favours spending big in midfield with Saka, Salah, Foden, Palmer and Son all excellent FPL assets. Four of them take penalties and, as the below image from our Opta Stats Sandbox feature shows, barring Palmer they make up the top four midfielders for xFPL this season. Foden (85) and Saka (81) are the top two for shots while no midfielder has scored more FPL points than Palmer (138) since his first start for the Blues in Gameweek 7
Despite the fixture against Arsenal in Gameweek 30, Haaland is almost an autopick with the Norwegian international a viable Captain option every Gameweek. With C. Wilson out for the season, Isak is an excellent option for Newcastle's run in. The Magpies are without European commitments now, and as the below image from our Fixture Planner shows, only Everton have a better schedule. The Magpies are likely to have an additional fixture in Gameweek 37 as well. Meanwhile, no forward has taken more shots than Muniz (25) over the last five Gameweeks. The Cottagers have an excellent matchup against Sheff. Utd. in Gameweek 30 where he can be played over Saka or Foden.
