Flekken is the highest projected for points of the goalkeepers at £4.5m or under and the Algorithm recommends keeping bench spend minimal with just £4.0 Turner as backup.
In defence, Alexander-Arnold and Gvardiol would play every week with Dunk and Robinson rotating as shown in the below image from our Assistant Manager feature. Amongst defenders, only Doughty (75) and Trippier (65) created more chances than Alexander-Arnold last season (64). Harwood-Bellis is just a bench option, and the Algorithm does not intend to play him in any week over the first five Gameweeks.
Salah is the Algorithm XI's preferred captain for Gameweek 1 against Ipswich. The Egyptian has traditionally started the season strong against promoted sides and as the below image from our Player Points Projections feature shows, no player, irrespective of price, is projected to score higher than the Egyptian international over the first five Gameweeks.
Similarly, Eze has the highest projections for midfielders priced at £7.0m or under while McNeil tops the projections at £5.5m. As the below image from our Fixture Difficulty Ratings shows, Forest have an excellent start to the season which sees Gibbs-White also make the XI.
Haaland is the preferred captain for the Algorithm squad in Gameweek 2 and 3, as the aforementioned image from our Player Points Projections feature shows, only Salah is projected to score higher than the Norwegian international over the first five Gameweeks.
As the below image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, only Mateta, Palmer and Gvardiol notched more FPL points than Isak over the last 10 games of last season and the Swedish international is the second-highest projected scorer in Gameweek 1 with a home fixture against newly promoted Southampton
As the below image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, over the same Gameweek 30-38 period, Wood was third for 'big chances' (BC) (14) only behind Mateta (15) and Isak (18).
