Best Attacking Fixtures

The reigning Champions Man. City are top of the Fixture Planner for Attack Difficulty over the first six Gameweeks, they open their campaign with a trip to newly promoted Burnley and also play another promoted side Sheff. Utd. in Gameweek 3. Newcastle at home in Gameweek two could prove to be a tough test but the other two home games against Fulham and Forest look prime for goals. As the below image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, no team scored more goals (60) or registered more 'big chances' (BC) (74) at home than the Cityzens.

The teams right below Man. City in the 2022/23 Premier League table, Arsenal and Man. Utd also have a great opening run of fixtures. Both sides play Forest in the opening three Gameweeks, no team conceded more goals on the road last season (44) than Cooper's side. Chelsea move to the top of the ticker after their opening fixture against Liverpool is out of the way, the London side play Luton, Forest and Bournemouth over Gameweeks three to five and with several cheap assets available, the Blues are likely to be a popular investment destination for FPL managers early doors.

Best Defensive Fixtures

Brighton are top of the Fixture Planner for Defensive difficulty over the first six Gameweeks, the Seagulls play Luton, West Ham, Newcastle and Bournemouth at home and also travel to Wolves who were the lowest scorers in the division last season (31). R. James, Alexander-Arnold and Stones can be expected to feature in many squads early doors with Chelsea, Liverpool and Man. City all enjoying a good run of defensive fixtures. Brentford conceded only 18 goals at home last season, the fifth-best home defensive record in the league. As the below image from our Rotation Planner shows, a rotation of Brentford and Forest defenders offers six home matches over the opening six Gameweeks, none of which are against last season's top-six. With both teams having defensive assets at 4.5, this is a great pairing for FPL managers.
