As the above image from our Assistant Manager feature shows, it is possible to get a balanced team even with Salah and Haaland taking up £27.5m of the budget.
Flekken is one of the few nailed on £4.5m goalkeeper options for the start of the season and Brentford play Palace, Southampton and West Ham at home in the first six Gameweeks. Gvardiol can be played every week and as the below image from our AI Rotation Optimiser feature shows, the other four can be rotated effectively
As the below image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, Gordon and Eze were in the top six for xFPL for midfielders priced at £7.5m or under last season over Gameweek 30-38. Nkunku has been impressive for Chelsea in preseason and the Blues have an impressive fixture run once the opening game against Man. City is out of the way.
Isak racked up nine goals and four assists over Gameweek 30-38 last season with no forward managing more goal involvements. As the below image from our Fixture Difficulty Ratings shows, all three forwards in the aforementioned team have excellent fixtures over the first three Gameweeks and will help in getting a fast start.
As the below image from our Player Points Projections feature shows, Alexander-Arnold, Gabriel and Gvardiol are in the top-six projected scoring defenders over the first six Gameweeks. All three offer significant attacking threat and can be played every week. FPL managers also have the option to field Harwood-Bellis in Gameweek 2 and 5 when Arsenal are away to Villa and Man. City respectively.
To free up £1m, either Gvardiol or Gabriel can be downgraded to Konsa and Faes can be upgraded to Robinson. This provides an effective rotation for the third spot in teams, as shown in the below image from the AI Rotation Optimiser, and this strategy also provides additional bench depth
There are a plethora of midfield options available to FPL managers in the £5.5m-£6.5m price bracket and this draft takes advantage of that by including Hudson-Odoi, Nkunku, B. Johnson and Palace's new winger Kamada. All four budget options have great fixtures to start the season and have other alternatives in and around their ‘price point’, such as Gibbs-White, Minteh, Hutchinson and Smith-Rowe, which is very helpful.
As is common with most Haaland/Salah drafts, Isak appears again in this setup. Given his reasonable ‘price point‘ and favourable opening fixtures, it is hard to ignore him for the start of season. If Solanke (£7.5m) gets his move to Spurs, drafts might begin to look a little different up top.
Haaland and Isak also make a front two for our Elite XI: Team Reveal manager Tim Walpole's latest draft. This eight-time top 10k manager is currently planning a Gameweek 4 Wildcard, which you can learn more about in his Manager Mindset.
