Double Gameweek 33 is now locked in, featuring Arsenal, Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Crystal Palace. This means all four clubs will play twice, offering massive potential for points. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest’s clash with Brentford will remain in BGW34, taking place in the midweek after the FA Cup semi-finals.
With the schedule now set, many FPL managers who have held their Wildcard are expected to activate it before the Gameweek 31 deadline (Saturday 5 April, 11:00 BST).
Crystal Palace stand out as they also have a Double Gameweek 32, making their assets particularly appealing. According to the Opta Stats Sandbox, their top three points scorers this season are Daniel Muñoz (£5.1m), Ismaïla Sarr (£5.7m), and Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.6m), all of whom become key transfer targets ahead of their back-to-back doubles. However, could we see Eberechi Eze (£6.8m) rediscover his talismanic form of past seasons and emerge as their standout player across the double-double?
Newcastle also feature in DGW32, which boosts the appeal of budget-friendly defenders like Dan Burn (£4.4m) and Tino Livramento (£4.5m), alongside attacking options Jacob Murphy (£5.0m) and Alexander Isak (£9.5m). We recently recommended Anthony Gordon (£7.4m) in this week’s Top 5 Differentials article, but FPL managers will want confirmation that he has fully recovered from his bruised knee before bringing him in.
For those with the Triple Captain chip, Isak presents a strong option in DGW32, as the Magpies play Manchester United and Crystal Palace at home.
Meanwhile, DGW33 looks like the ideal time to activate Bench Boost, with up to 12 players having two fixtures from the four involved clubs.
With just a few weeks to go, this announcement gives managers the chance to optimise their chip usage and maximise points for the season run-in.
