The above image from our Elite XI: Team Reveal feature shows the midfield picked by the Consensus XI, which is an amalgamation of the Elite Managers’ picks. They have preferred a double up on the Manchester United midfield, with both B. Fernandes and Rashford featuring in several of their teams, and Saka featuring in every single one. Mitoma and Mbeumo are both popular picks with most of the Elite Managers opting for at least one of the budget enablers.

Use predictive FPL statistics to increase your Gameweek points.

Saka, B. Fernandes, Mbeumo and Mitoma all feature in the top 14 projected scoring midfielders over the first six Gameweeks, with the Arsenal man top of the quartet. Rashford does not feature due to his limited preseason minutes and fitness issues, but no midfielder scored more goals (13) in home matches. As the below image from our Opta Stats Sandbox feature shows, no midfielder created more chances than B. Fernandes (119) last season with Saka not too far behind in fifth (75).

Mitoma vs Mbeumo

Use a range of pitch maps to help inform your transfers.

As the above image from our Fix Heatmaps feature shows, Mbeumo outscored Mitoma by 18 points over the last 10 Gameweeks of the 2022/23 season, despite playing 232 minutes fewer. However, it is worth mentioning that Mitoma's form tailed off significantly over this period due to fixture congestion from earlier postponed games.

Mbeumo scored four goals to Mitoma's one, despite being significantly lower for 'Expected Goals' (xG) (0.27 vs 0.42). Although, the Brentford man was otherwise superior in every attacking metric, be it shots in the box (2.14 vs 2.31) or attempted assists (1.63 vs 1.98). However, it remains to be seen what impact Toney and Raya's absences will have on Brentford and what Mbeumo's role will be in the London side's formation. Either way, both budget enablers look to be great picks and it is no surprise to see them quite popular amongst the Elite Team Reveal managers.
