If you are the sort of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) manager who enjoys going against the grain – or takes satisfaction from finding hidden gems before the crowd – then lowly selected players (differentials) can often provide value and offer a source of points which won’t be shared by many other managers. As long as the player picks are justifiable, differentials can give you an edge over your mini-league rivals.

In this article we look ahead to Gameweek 11 and find players from each position who are currently selected by less than 10% of managers, but could reward their owners in the upcoming Gameweeks.
A Wolves defender may not jump to the top of everyone’s wish list but Craig Dawson (£4.5m) could make for an interesting differential in Gameweek 11.
Selected by less than half a percent of managers, this pick is more about clean sheet potential than anything else. Wolves face a Sheffield United side who go into this fixture ranked bottom for goal threat across multiple metrics, including goals scored (7) and total shots (85).
Wolves have not been all that great defensively. According to Opta Stats Sandbox, they are ranked fifth-worst for xGC (19.25) while conceding 17 Premier League goals. While this doesn’t make for great reading, it is worth noting that this is fewer than the likes of Brighton and West Ham.
If you are going to pick a Wolves defender for this fixture, then Dawson outshines his defensive colleagues for goal involvement. He has had more shots (8) than any other Wolves defender and is the only member of the backline who can boast a goal involvement of over 1.
There are a number of cheap midfield options for those wishing to free up funds and/or enable a flexible formation, but there aren’t many who face a newly promoted side in Gameweek 11.
The underlying statistics of Jordan Ayew (£5.4m) may not jump off the screen, but he is still one of the top Crystal Palace attacking options, particularly in the absence of Eberechi Eze (£6.1m) and Michael Olise (£5.8m).
This pick is certainly based more on future possibility than it is on past accomplishments. Looking ahead, no team has a better run that Crystal Palace who face Burnley, Everton, Luton and Bournemouth in the next five Gameweeks (Fixture Planner).
We’ve been burned before, but (once again!) Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.8m) could be a super differential, as Everton take on Brighton at Goodison Park at the weekend.
With 3 wins in their last 4 games, there is a sense that Everton’s fortunes are turning a corner. Calvert-Lewin scored Everton’s only goal during their 1-0 win of West Ham, and bagged an assist against Burnley last night in Round 4 of the EFL Cup. He was subbed off in the 68th minute, presumably to rest him ahead of the weekend’s action.
Brighton, whilst currently viewed as one of the most difficult Premier League teams to play, continue to be leaky at the back. They are one of only 4 teams (the others being the three newly promoted) to register no clean sheets so far this season and have conceded 19 goals already (ranked 15th).
