As the below image shows, I.Sarr tops the Custom Stats xFPL table for Gameweek 17 with a score of 12.4. The Senegalese international took five shots in the box, two of which were 'big chances' and also created a 'big chance'.
Isak was close behind with an xFPL score of 12.3, the Swedish international took four shots in the box, two of which were 'big chances' and also attempted four assists, two of which were classified as 'big chances' created by Opta.
No player attempted more assists than Hall (five), the 20-year-old also took a shot in the box and notched an xFPL score of 11.6.
Palmer was a popular captaincy option, but had a poor game by his standards. The midfielder took just two shots in the box, neither of which were 'big chances'. While only one of his four attempted assists was classified as a 'big chance' created. This meant a low xFPL score of just 4.4.
The other popular captaincy option Salah took four shots in the box, despite Liverpool being reduced to 10 men for the majority of the game. However, none of these were classified as 'big chances' created. He had his only attempted assist converted and registered an xFPL score of just 5.1.
xFPL is calculated primarily using expected goals (xG), assists (xA), which combine as Fantasy Premier League (FPL) involvements (xG + xA = xI), as well as expected clean sheets (xCS). These numbers are a result of underlying statistics (i.e. shot type and location will give a probability of scoring = xG). xFPL is the combination of these statistics and factors in appearance and bonus points to give an overall expected FPL point score.
As the below image from our Transfer Analytics feature shows, Robinson is the most popular transfer in for Gameweek 17 so far. Over 300,000 FPL managers have brought him in at the time of writing.
Amad has been brought in by over 300,000 FPL managers as well, with the budget midfielder more popular than Enzo who has seen over 100,000 transfers in. The Newcastle duo of Isak and Hall are also popular on the back of their hauls and the fixture against Ipswich next.
Aït-Nouri is suspended for Wolves visit to Leicester and the Algerian international has seen nearly 450,000 sales already. Haaland, Watkins, Rogers and Welbeck are being sold in droves as well after disappointing their owners last weekend.
As the below image from our Top 10 defender transfer combinations shows, the majority of the transfers from Aït-Nouri are going to Robinson (40%). The rest are reasonably scattered around with Hall, Colwill, Gabriel, Kerkez and Milenković all popular. It is a bit strange to see Cucurella and Muñoz in the top 10 with both suspended for Gameweek 17.
A look at the midfield transfer combinations shows that budget midfielders are in vogue, with Amad and Enzo occupying all of the Top 10 combinations. Rogers, Semenyo, Johnson, Mitoma, Smith Rowe and Rashford are the players making way.
Up top, Isak and Raúl occupy all the spots in the Top 10 Forward transfer combinations with Cunha to Isak (28.9%) the most preferred move. Welbeck, João Pedro, Haaland and Solanke are some of the other forwards making way.
As the above image from our Opta Player Heatmaps feature shows, Robinson (21) and Hall (22) have scored similar points over the last six Gameweeks at an average of 3.5 FPL points and 3.7 FPL points per game respectively. The pair have also started every game over that period and played similar minutes (540 vs 533).
As the above image shows, neither fullback displays significant goal threat with just 0.16 'Expected Goals' (xG) for Robinson versus 0.26 for Hall. The latter has taken six shots in the box though compared to zero for Robinson, so the goal threat is slightly better with Hall.
The creative numbers are similar for both as well, Robinson has attempted eight assists to 10 for Hall, but has created two 'big chances' compared to just one for the latter which leads itself to a higher 'Expected Assists' (xA) tally for Robinson (1.47 vs 1.34).
As the below image from our Fixture Difficulty Ratings shows, Fulham are ranked second for 'Defence Difficulty' over the next six Gameweeks. While Newcastle are ranked 11th due to the away trips to Man Utd. and Spurs in Gameweeks 19 and 20.
Keeping the above in mind, Robinson appears to be the better pick by a small margin.
