Top Five Key Players for Fantasy Premier League 2024/25 Gameweek 24

FPL Headliner: Mohamed Salah (bou/eve)

After two blanks, Salah got back on the scoresheet against Ipswich, making it four goals in the last six Gameweeks for the Egyptian international. No midfielder has taken more shots in the box (26) or landed more shots on target (12) during that period.

Meanwhile, he also leads the way for 'big chances' created (six), and only Kulusevski has created more chances (21) than his 20.

As the below image from our Opta Player Heatmaps feature shows, he has averaged 11.5 FPL points per game in away matches this season.

Liverpool have scored 17 goals over the last six Gameweeks, only Man. City (18) have found the back of the net more often. The Reds are top for shots (136), shots on target (47), 'big chances' (25) and 'Expected Goals' (xG) (17.07)

Their first opponents Bournemouth have conceded five goals over the same period (second) and have kept three clean sheets. However, the Cherries are ranked as low as 14th for shots conceded (87).

Their derby rivals Everton have conceded seven goals over the last six Gameweeks (eighth) and have kept just one clean sheet. The Toffees are ranked 16th for shots conceded (92) and 15th for 'Expected Goals Conceded' (xGC) (10.78)

Isak's brace against Southampton took the Swedish international's tally to seven goals over the last six Gameweeks. As the below image from our Opta Stats Sandbox feature shows, only Haaland beats him for shots on target (11 vs 14) and 'big chances' (eight vs nine) amongst forwards over that period.

Newcastle have scored 14 goals over the last six Gameweeks (third), and trail only Man. City and Liverpool (25 each) for 'big chances' (21). The Magpies are also third for xG (12.62).

Their visitors Fulham have conceded nine goals over the same period (11th) and have kept just one clean sheet. The Cottagers are ranked third for shots conceded (51) and fifth for xGC (6.90).

Best Midfield Pick: Bryan Mbeumo (TOT)

Mbeumo's penalty against Palace was his fourth goal over the last six Gameweeks, only Kluivert (five) and Foden (six) have been more prolific amongst midfielders over that period.

Salah (26) is the only midfielder to have attempted more shots in the box than his 17, while he trails only Salah, O. Dango (six each) and Foden (seven) for 'big chances' (five).

Brentford have scored 29 goals at home, more than any other side. Man. City and Arsenal (39) each are the only two sides to have crafted more 'big chances' on home turf than the Bees (37).

Their visitors Spurs have conceded 12 goals over the aforementioned period (17th) and have kept no clean sheets. The North London side are ranked ninth for shots conceded (75) and 13th for xGC (10.01).

Best Double Gameweek Forward: Cody Gakpo (bou/eve)

Gakpo has been Liverpool's top scorer over their last five league matches with four goals. As the below image from our Match Stats feature shows, he is second for both xG (3.1) and shots on target (six) over the aforementioned period, while only Mac Allister (13) and Salah (18) have attempted more assists than his 11.

Liverpool (30) are the league's top scorers in away matches this season. No side have attempted more shots (213), crafted more 'big chances' (58) or registered a higher xG (33.03) on the road.

Their first opponents Bournemouth have conceded just seven goals at home, the fewest in the league. However, they are ranked eighth for shots conceded (129) and fifth for xGC (12.79) which indicates that Liverpool could still get plenty of chances.

Their second opponents Everton have conceded 13 goals at home (sixth) and have kept four clean sheets. The Toffees are ranked 10th for shots conceded (132) and 11th for xGC (16.79) in home matches.

No defender has attempted more assists (13) or created more 'big chances' (four) over that period, while he is also top for shots (13).

Liverpool have conceded just five goals over the last six Gameweeks (second) and have kept two clean sheets. Arsenal (27) are the only side to have allowed opponents fewer shots in the box than the Merseyside outfit (31) during that timeframe.

Their first opponents Bournemouth have scored 14 goals over the same period and are second for both shots on target (44) and shots in the box (72).

Their derby rivals Everton have scored just five goals over the last six Gameweeks (16th) with only Ipswich (35) attempting fewer shots than the Merseyside outfit (55). The Toffees are ranked 19th for xG (6.39).
