Emiliano Martínez

  • Position: Goalkeeper
  • Cost: £5.0m
  • Fixture: Ipswich (H), Liverpool (H)
  • Projected Points: 6.9

Martínez is the first of three Aston Villa players making the team this gameweek.

The 31-year-old Argentine has had a disappointing season by his standards, keeping just three clean sheets and conceding 36 goals in 24 matches.

Premier League teams' clean sheet probabilities

However, with two fixtures in Gameweek 25, Villa have a 50% chance of keeping a clean sheet, according to the Predicted Points and Stats tool.

Ipswich have struggled in attack, scoring only 22 goals in 24 games, and they rank lowest in the league for expected goals (xG), averaging just 1.06 per game.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

  • Position: Defender
  • Cost: £7.4m
  • Fixtures: Wolves (H), Aston Villa (A)
  • Projected Points: 9.0

The 25-year-old England international is a cornerstone of Liverpool's defence and attack. With 6 assists, 9 clean sheets, and 13 big chances created this season, Alexander-Arnold's dual-threat potential is undeniable. His set-piece prowess and crossing ability make him a constant threat, and with a double gameweek, he's a must-have.

Gabriel Magalhães

  • Position: Defender
  • Cost: £6.3m
  • Fixture: Leicester (A)
  • Projected Points: 4.6

The 26-year-old Brazilian centre-back is a key figure in Arsenal’s defence.

Known for his aerial ability and goal threat, only Joško Gvardiol (5) has scored more goals among defenders this season than Gabriel (3), as shown in the Opta Stats Sandbox tool. He has also registered two assists and eight bonus points.

Premier League defenders ranked by goals scored

With Arsenal’s strong defensive record and Gabriel’s attacking potential, he's an appealing FPL option. A trip to Leicester presents opportunities for both a clean sheet and attacking returns.

Daniel Muñoz

  • Position: Defender
  • Cost: £4.8m
  • Fixture: Everton (H)
  • Projected Points: 5.1

The 27-year-old Colombian right-back has been a standout performer for Crystal Palace this season and once again features in the Top 5 Differentials blog.

With two goals, four assists, and seven clean sheets, he has proven his value at both ends of the pitch.

Despite his impressive returns, Muñoz is still owned by just 7.2% of FPL managers. However, it's worth noting that Palace have a blank in Gameweek 29.

Mohamed Salah

  • Position: Midfielder
  • Cost: £13.7m
  • Fixtures: Wolves (H), Aston Villa (A)
  • Projected Points: 17.4

The Algorithm has selected Salah as captain, and it’s easy to see why.

The 31-year-old "Egyptian King" has been in sensational form, silencing any doubters with 22 goals, 14 assists, and a staggering 251 FPL points this season.

Salah FPL stats

With a double gameweek ahead and an average of 10.5 FPL points per game—over three points more than second-placed Cole Palmer (7.2), as shown in the Opta Heatmaps feature—Salah looks primed for a massive haul.

Justin Kluivert

  • Position: Midfielder
  • Cost: £5.9m
  • Fixture: Southampton (A)
  • Projected Points: 5.0

The son of Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert, 24-year-old Justin has been making a name for himself at Bournemouth. With 11 goals and four assists, he has emerged as an excellent budget option in midfield.

However, the big question for many FPL managers is whether he’s the best Bournemouth midfielder to own. In a recent article, we compared Kluivert, Antoine Semenyo, and Dango Ouattara to help you decide.

Cole Palmer

  • Position: Midfielder
  • Cost: £11.2m
  • Fixture: Brighton (A)
  • Projected Points: 5.7

The 21-year-old English midfielder has continued to show his talismanic qualities for Chelsea this season. With 14 goals, 8 assists, and 173 FPL points, Palmer has firmly established himself as a premium midfielder.

Player FPL projected points for upcoming gameweeks

However, he has been sold in large numbers in recent gameweeks. That said, the Predicted Points & Stats tool suggests he could be invaluable in the coming weeks, with upcoming fixtures against Southampton (GW27) and Leicester (GW28). He ranks as the second-highest player for projected points, behind only Mo Salah.

Morgan Rogers

  • Position: Midfielder
  • Cost: £5.6m
  • Fixtures: Ipswich (H), Liverpool (H)
  • Projected Points: 7.2

The young English talent has been making waves at Aston Villa this season. At just 21 years old, Rogers has already established himself as a key player in Villa's midfield.

With 6 goals and 5 assists in 23 games played, he's proving to be an excellent value pick for FPL managers.

Ollie Watkins

  • Position: Forward
  • Cost: £8.8m
  • Fixture: Ipswich (H), Liverpool (H)
  • Projected Points: 9.7

Caveat: Watkins is currently flagged as a doubt for Gameweek 25 but is expected to be available as per Emery's last press conference

The 28-year-old English striker has been in excellent form for Aston Villa this season. With 13 goals and 10 assists, Watkins has proven himself as one of the most consistent forwards in the league.

For those feeling bold, he could even make an interesting differential captaincy option, as discussed in a recent article. However, it would certainly take some courage to go against Mo Salah!

Cody Gakpo

  • Position: Forward
  • Cost: £7.6m Fixtures: Wolves (H), Aston Villa (A)
  • Projected Points: 9.7

The 24-year-old Dutch international has been selected as vice-captain by the algorithm, and it’s easy to see why, especially when looking at the Match Centre feature.

Liverpool vs Wolves stats for the last 5 games

Over the last five games, Gakpo has ranked joint-second for goals (2), second for expected goals (xG) with 2.0, third for shots on target (5), joint-top for assists (2), and second for attempted assists (11).

This shows his ability to score and assist in multiple ways, making him a strong option for Liverpool’s double gameweek.

Arne Slot has provided an update on Gakpo's availability since the algorithm selected the team.

Yoane Wissa

  • Position: Forward
  • Cost: £6.3m
  • Fixture: West Ham (A)
  • Projected Points: 4.8

The 27-year-old DR Congo international has been a reliable source of goals for Brentford. With 10 goals and 3 assists, Wissa offers excellent value in the forward position. His 25 shots on target and impressive 11.75 xG indicate his goal-scoring form is sustainable and possibly should have returned more.

Conclusion: Balancing Form and Fixtures for Gameweek 25 Success
