But before we reveal the names, here’s a quick look at the criteria we’ve used to select them:

Jean-Philippe Mateta

  • Position: Forward
  • Cost: £7.5m
  • Projected Points: 5.7

Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta is back from injury, having played 70 minutes in the FA Cup against Fulham. Which means he is criminally under owned at just 6.7%.

After a slow start to the season, the French striker has hit top form, scoring 12 goals and providing 2 assists in just 2,135 minutes. He’s been particularly prolific lately, netting 8 times in his last 8 games.

Southampton vs Crystal Palace FPL stats

Despite missing the previous match due to injury, he remains Palace's top scorer over the last five games (4 goals) and leads in shots on target (6), while ranking second for expected goals (xG) with 2.9, as shown in Match Centre.

With a home fixture against Southampton in Gameweek 30 and over 180,000 FPL managers already transferring him in, Mateta’s ownership is set to soar. The Saints have conceded a league-high 70 goals, and his goal-scoring form makes him a prime candidate to capitalise on their defensive frailties. He could be the differential that sets your team apart.

Sávio Moreira de Oliveira (Savinho)

  • Position: Midfielder
  • Cost: £6.2m
  • Projected Points: 5.1

Manchester City's young Brazilian talent, Savinho, has been a standout performer this season, despite The Citizens’ underwhelming campaign.

The 20-year-old was granted time off after his wife gave birth to their first child on Friday, which meant he missed the FA Cup tie against Bournemouth on Sunday. However, he's expected to return for Gameweek 30.

Man City players' creative stats

Savinho has been a creative force for City, providing 10 FPL assists—more than any of his teammates—and creating 10 big chances, as shown in the Opta Stats Sandbox tool. His expected assists (xA) of 5.95 suggests he’s overperforming, but in Pep Guardiola’s system, that’s not unusual.

With a home fixture against Leicester City, who have kept just one clean sheet all season (way back in Gameweek 7), Savinho could be a smart differential pick.

Ismaïla Sarr

  • Position: Midfielder
  • Cost: £5.7m
  • Projected Points: 4.9

Crystal Palace’s Ismaïla Sarr has been flying under the radar this season, but his recent performances are becoming impossible to ignore.

The Senegalese winger has contributed 7 goals and 4 FPL assists, with an impressive xG of 8.06 and xA of 6.95—suggesting he could have had even more attacking returns. On top of that, he has created 12 big chances, highlighting his playmaking ability.

Sarr vs Eze FPL stats

In past seasons, Eberechi Eze has been Palace’s main man and the go-to FPL asset. However, a comparison of their per-90-minute stats using the Opta Heatmaps suggests it’s hard to justify Eze’s higher price of £6.7m.

With Palace hosting Southampton in Gameweek 30, Sarr could be in for a big haul. His low ownership of just 5.3% makes him an excellent differential for managers looking to gain an edge in their mini-leagues.

Tyrick Mitchell

  • Position: Defender
  • Cost: £4.8m
  • Projected Points: 4.3

While Daniel Muñoz may be the standout Palace defender, his 10%+ ownership means he’s not a true differential. That’s where Tyrick Mitchell comes in—a budget-friendly option with attacking potential.

Mitchell has provided 4 FPL assists this season, but his underlying numbers are even more impressive. He has created 9 big chances and amassed an xA total of 5.93—both higher than Muñoz. Impressive stats for a defender.

Premier League clubs ranked by goals conceded

Defensively, Crystal Palace have been solid, conceding just 33 goals—the third fewest in the league, as shown in the Opta Stats Sandbox. With 9 clean sheets to his name and a favourable home fixture against Southampton, Mitchell offers potential returns at both ends of the pitch. His low ownership of just 2.1% makes him a perfect differential pick for Gameweek 30.

Nick Pope

  • Position: Goalkeeper
  • Cost: £4.9m
  • Projected Points: 3.1

Newcastle United's Nick Pope rounds off our list of differentials. The English shot-stopper has had a mixed season due to injury, but his quality is undeniable.

Newcastle’s defence has kept nine clean sheets this season—the joint fourth-most in the league—suggesting Pope could have a strong finish to the campaign.

Premier League fixtures for the next 3 games ranked by defense difficulty

In Gameweek 30, Newcastle host Brentford, which may not be the most appealing fixture. However, they then face Leicester, followed by a Double Gameweek at home against Man United and Crystal Palace. The Magpies rank top of the Fixture Difficulty Rating for defensive options, making Pope a standout pick.

With just 3.6% ownership, he could be the differential goalkeeper to give your team an edge.

Conclusion: Differentials to Watch

These five players offer excellent differential options for Gameweek 30 and beyond. From Mateta's goal-scoring prowess to Savinho's creative flair, Sarr's all-round contributions, Mitchell's defensive stability with attacking potential, and Pope's clean sheet potential, there's something for every FPL manager looking to gain an edge.

Remember, while these players offer great potential, they come with the risk associated with low ownership. Balance your selections carefully, and may your arrows be green in Gameweek 30!
