Nick Pope: The Safe Hands of Newcastle

Position: Goalkeeper

Cost: £4.9m

Fixture: MUN (H), CRY (H)

Predicted Points: 7.4

Nick Pope has been a consistent and dependable figure for Newcastle United. The 32-year-old English goalkeeper is currently owned by just 6.4% of the top 1 million FPL managers, according to the Insight Live tool — making him a smart differential pick for the upcoming gameweek.

Newcastle player ownership for the top 1 million managers

Newcastle have recorded 10 clean sheets so far, the fourth-most in the league. With back-to-back fixtures against Manchester United and Crystal Palace, Pope has a 60% chance of keeping a clean sheet and is projected to make over 5 saves according to the Predicted Points & Stats feature.

Pervis Estupiñán: Underperforming or Unlucky?

Position: Defender

Cost: £4.9m

Fixture: LEI (H)

Predicted Points: 4.9

It’s been a frustrating season for Pervis Estupiñán. The Ecuadorian left-back has registered just one goal and one assist in FPL this campaign — a far cry from the eight attacking returns he managed in 2023/24 and five in 2024/25.

At 27, Estupiñán still has time to rediscover his former attacking output, and there are signs he’s been a little unlucky. He’s fired 18 shots, created 5 big chances, and holds an expected assists (xA) total of 1.97, suggesting the potential for more returns has been there.

Brighton’s upcoming match against Leicester could be just the opportunity he needs. The Foxes have conceded 9 goals in their last 4 matches — the joint-most in the league alongside Southampton — and are averaging 2.36 goals conceded per game this season. If Estupiñán is going to turn his attacking stats into FPL points, this might be the moment to do it.

Lewis Dunk: Brighton's Defensive Stalwart

Position: Defender

Cost: £4.2m

Fixture: LEI (H)

Predicted Points: 4.4

Lewis Dunk has long been a reliable figure in Brighton’s defence, and while he hasn’t offered much in terms of attacking returns this season, he remains a strong option for clean sheet potential — especially in this Gameweek.

Premier League clubs ranked by least goals scored

Leicester’s attacking form has been abysmal. As highlighted in the Opta Stats Sandbox, they’ve failed to score in eight consecutive matches, netting just four goals in their last 16. Over that same period, they’ve registered the fewest total shots (129) and shots on target (40) in the league.

At just £4.2m, Dunk is a cost-effective way to tap into Brighton’s clean sheet potential, allowing FPL managers to free up funds for elsewhere in their squad.

William Saliba: Clean Sheet Potential, But Watch for Rotation

Position: Defender

Cost: £6.5m

Fixture: BRE (H)

Predicted Points: 4.5

William Saliba has been central to Arsenal’s outstanding defensive form this season. In his 29 appearances, the French centre-back has helped the Gunners to 11 clean sheets and conceding just 20 goals.

While his primary value lies in clean sheet potential, Saliba also offers some attacking threat, having scored 2 goals this season with an xG tally of 2.21.

However, with Arsenal holding a commanding 3-0 advantage after their Champions League first leg, there’s a risk of rotation ahead of the return fixture.

It's also worth noting that Gabriel has now been ruled out for the season. While that didn’t prevent a clean sheet against Los Blancos, it remains to be seen whether a Saliba–Kiwior pairing can maintain the same defensive stability in the Premier League.

Jacob Murphy: His Best Ever Season!

Position: Midfielder

Cost: £5.1m

Fixture: MUN (H), CRY (H)

Predicted Points: 9.1

Jacob Murphy was the standout performer in Gameweek 31, delivering 2 goals, 3 bonus points, and a 16-point haul against Leicester — delighting the FPL managers who backed him.

With 7 goals and 9 assists in 27 appearances, the 30-year-old winger is enjoying a career-best season in Fantasy Premier League, having already amassed 122 FPL points — well clear of his previous best of 82 points across both the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.

His upcoming Double Gameweek against Manchester United and Crystal Palace offers another strong opportunity for returns, especially with Newcastle’s attacking form clicking at the right time.

Mohamed Salah: Slump or Setup for a Big Return?

Position: Midfielder

Cost: £13.8m

Fixture: WHU (H)

Predicted Points: 9.2

Mohamed Salah is rumoured to be close to signing a new contract with Liverpool, but on the pitch, he’s experiencing a rare dip by his elite standards.

The 32-year-old has blanked in the last two Gameweeks — something that has only happened once before this season, in Gameweeks 21 and 22.

Despite this short dry spell, Salah is having a record-breaking season, racking up 27 goals and 17 assists in just 31 games.

With a home fixture against West Ham — a side conceding an average of 1.68 goals per game — Salah looks well-positioned to return to form and reward the many managers who continue to back him.

Ismaïla Sarr: Crystal Palace's Creative Force

Position: Midfielder

Cost: £5.7m

Fixture: MCI (A), NEW (A)

Predicted Points: 6.8

Ismaïla Sarr has been a standout performer for Crystal Palace this season, and his £5.7m price tag offers great value for those looking to strengthen their midfield without breaking the bank.

Man City vs Crystal Palace FPL stats

With 7 goals and 4 assists to his name, Sarr has proven to be a key contributor to Palace’s attacking play. A look at Palace's stats over the last five games — available through the Match Centre feature — shows just how integral he’s been. He ranks top for goals (3) and shots on target (4), and second for xG (2.3) and attempted assists (8).

At his affordable price, and with two fixtures on the horizon, Sarr is an easy pick for FPL managers, which is why he’s featured in this week’s Algorithm’s Team.

Eberechi Eze: Unlucky So Far, But a Double Gameweek to Deliver

Position: Midfielder

Cost: £6.8m

Fixture: MCI (A), NEW (A)

Predicted Points: 7.1

Eberechi Eze has had a frustrating season by his own high standards, averaging just 3.7 points per game, according to the Opta Heatmaps tool.

Eze FPL stats for the 2024/25 season

However, his underlying stats tell a very different story. Despite 87 shots (22 on target) and 7 big chances, he has only managed 2 goals, with an xG of 7.36.

This suggests that Eze has been unlucky not to return more, and the upcoming Double Gameweek presents a perfect opportunity for him to start converting his chances. For patient FPL managers, Eze could finally deliver on the promise of his impressive underlying data.

Cole Palmer: Will He Shine Again Against Ipswich?

Position: Midfielder

Cost: £10.7m

Fixture: IPS (H)

Predicted Points: 8.2

Cole Palmer’s season has been a tale of two halves. From Gameweek 1 to 24, he was in outstanding form, averaging 7.2 points per game, second only to Salah’s 10.46. However, since Gameweek 25, his form has significantly dropped, returning just 15 points in total.

Despite this recent dip, Palmer still boasts an impressive 181 points for the season, with 14 goals and 9 assists in 28 games.

He faces Ipswich next, a team that has struggled defensively, keeping just two clean sheets and conceding the third-most goals in the league (62).

With such a favourable fixture, Palmer could be in line for another big haul. However, due to Chelsea’s involvement in the UEFA Conference League, his minutes could be managed, as seen in Gameweek 31 when he played only 31 minutes off the bench against Brentford.

Alexander Isak: A Triple Captain Pick with Double the Opportunity

Position: Forward

Cost: £9.5m

Fixture: MUN (H), CRY (H)

Predicted Points: 11.4

Alexander Isak has been in sensational form for Newcastle this season. The 25-year-old Swedish striker has already racked up 20 goals and 5 assists in just 25 games.

FPL chip strategy of an elite manager

It's no surprise that Isak is being Triple Captained by James Cooper, an Elite XI: Team Reveal manager with an incredible 7 top-10k finishes to his name.

With two fixtures in the Double Gameweek against Manchester United and Crystal Palace, Isak has a fantastic chance to add to his tally, and he’s projected to score an impressive 11.4 points, according to the Predicted Points & Stats tool.

Jean-Philippe Mateta: Palace's In-Form Forward

Position: Forward

Cost: £7.7m

Fixture: MCI (A), NEW (A)

Predicted Points: 7.8

After a slow start to the season, Jean-Philippe Mateta has found his stride and been a consistent performer for Crystal Palace. With 13 goals and 2 assists in 29 games, Mateta has proven himself more than worthy of his price tag in FPL.

His xG of 12.92 suggests his goal-scoring form is sustainable, while his xA of 3.68 indicates that he’s been unlucky not to add more assists to his tally.

Conclusion: Balancing Form and Fixtures for Gameweek 32 Success
