Man. Utd. have a great run of fixtures over the next five Gameweeks and in this blog, their numbers are analysed to determine the best Fantasy Premier League (FPL) picks in both defence and attack.
Evaluate players with Opta statistics.
As the above image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, B. Fernandes is top for xFPL (29.95) amongst Man. Utd. players and only Rashford (19) has notched more FPL points than his 18. The Portuguese international has attempted 14 assists, with only Gross (15) attempting more across the league, and Man. Utd’s new captain has also taken 13 shots. Rashford scored his first goal of the campaign playing in his preferred left-wing position against Arsenal. The 25-year-old is top amongst Man. Utd. players for shots (14), shots on target (SoT) (four) and 'Expected Goals' (xG) (2 11). With Antony currently being investigated for domestic abuse, it remains uncertain where B. Fernandes will play with Sancho also currently out of favour with Ten Hag. Højlund impressed in his cameo against Arsenal and will likely lead the line with Rashford on the left wing. This could see B. Fernandes occupy a right-wing role or Rashford could be shifted to the right with Garnacho on the left.
Man. Utd. signed Reguilón at then end of the transfer window but it is likely they will persist with Dalot at left-back and Wan-Bissaka on the right. Both fullbacks have posted poor attacking numbers with Dalot only managing a single shot and attempting no assists in his three appearances. On the right, Wan-Bissaka's numbers are also not great with the 25-year-old attempting four assists in as many matches. Varane is expected to miss out through injury but Martinez and Lindelof are expected to be fit. No team kept more clean sheets than the Red Devils (16) last season and Wan-Bissaka appears to be the best route into their defence at just £4.6m
Analyse team’s upcoming fixtures.
As the above image shows, Man. Utd. are ranked fifth on the Fixture Planner over the next five Gameweeks with home games against Brighton, Palace and Brentford, along with away trips to two promoted sites Burnley and Sheff. Utd. No side has conceded more goals than Burnley (11) while Brighton (7.97) and Sheff. Utd. (9.55) are in the bottom six for 'Expected Goals Conceded' (xGC).
Use predictive FPL statistics to increase your Gameweek points.
As the above image from our Fix Algorithm feature shows, Rashford (23.9) and B. Fernandes (23.4) are ranked 14th and 15th amongst midfielders over the next five gameweeks. In defence, Wan-Bissaka (22.0) is projected to be the eighth highest-scoring defender over the aforementioned period with no other Man. Utd. defender in the top 15.
