Many Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers are struggling to fit Salah and Haaland in their teams alongside the likes of Son or Saka, so getting the right budget enablers could prove vital. In this blog, some of the best options at £6.0m or under are compared using the Fix Comparison Matrix
Use predictive FPL statistics to increase your Gameweek points.
The Fix Algorithm ranks Jensen (23.8), D. Luiz (23.3) and Hee Chan (21.6) as the highest projected scoring midfielders at £6.0m or under over the next six gameweeks but with Brentford's fixtures turning sour soon, the Danish international is left out of the comparison. Rice, Rodrigo and Bruno G. are not considered as well as they are essentially defensive midfielders, the popular picks of Gordon, Neto and Souček are considered given their form and/or previous pedigree.
Use enhanced visual representations to find the best FPL players.
Neto has featured for every minute of the Premier League season so far, the only player in the comparison to do so. The Spaniard is also top for FPL points (43), assists (six), attempted assists (20) and 'big chances' (BC) created (five). Wolves play Bournemouth, Sheff. Utd and Fulham in three of their next five fixtures and Neto has proven to be the talisman for the Midlands side so far. However, it does look like he will be dependent largely on creativity for his output with his shots (12) the joint-lowest in the comparison despite the highest minutes.
Gordon is available for Newcastle after serving out his one-game suspension in Gameweek 9, despite just 544 minutes the 22-year-old is second for FPL points (37) with two goals and four assists. His shot volume has been decent considering his limited gametime, he is second for shots (15) and top for shots on target (SoT) (seven). He has only attempted eight assists but five of these have been BC, which sees him joint-top for BC involvements in the comparison (seven). The injury to H. Barnes should see the winger feature more often, but Howe might still rotate keeping in mind the Magpies' European involvement.
D. Luiz has found the back of the net three times this season with only Hee Chan (five) scoring more amongst the players in the comparison. Penalty duties are a large part of his appeal with the Brazilian international already scoring from the spot twice. While his shot volume (16) is impressive on paper, he has landed only four SoT and most of these efforts have been speculative attempts from outside the box. His creativity numbers are not great either with just seven attempted assists, while two of his three BC involvements have been penalties. As the below image from our Fixture Planner shows, Villa are top for Fixture Difficulty over the next six gameweeks. However, there are arguably three better FPL assets from the Midlands side in Cash, Diaby and Watkins so the Brazilian is unlikely to appeal to many.
Analyse team’s upcoming fixtures.
The signing of Ward-Prowse has allowed Souček more license to get forward in recent matches. The Czech Republic international is top of the comparison for BC (five) which indicates that his shot volume (12) is actually better than it looks on paper. He has scored from two of his four SOT and has attempted six assists as well. He is joint-top for BC involvements (seven) alongside Neto, but these are mostly BC to score rather than assist, which always count more with midfielders being awarded five FPL points for a goal.
Classified as a midfielder this season, Hee-Chan has found the back of the net five times with two of these coming as a substitute. Despite playing comfortably the fewest minutes in the comparison (414), he is top for goals (five) and has taken 12 shots, the same as Neto who has played over 300 minutes more. He has landed five SoT across these eight appearances and has started the last two matches which indicates that he might have cemented his spot in the team. Those looking for a goalscorer rather than a creator - like Neto - could do far worse than Hee-Chan for such a slender price of £5.4m.
