In this blog the Top Five Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Key Players for Gameweek 33 are discussed. Every FPL Gameweek, picks will be in the below format:

Erling Haaland (LUT)

Haaland’s goal against Palace took the Norwegian international to the top of the goalscoring charts (19), as the below image from our Match Stats feature shows over Man. City’s last five league matches he is top amongst their players for ‘Expected Goals’ (xG) (2.6), second for goals (two) and third for shots on target (SoT) (four). Man. City have scored 12 goals over the last six Gameweeks (fourth) with only Spurs (65), Fulham (81) and Liverpool (83) managing more shots in the box (SiB) than their 64. The Manchester side are ranked third for xG (11.39). Their visitors Luton have conceded 14 goals (18th) over the same period and have kept no clean sheets. The Hatters are ranked 19th for ‘Expected Goals Conceded’ (xGC) (13.73). Our Predicted Points & Stats tool currently projects a point score of 8.7 for Haaland.

Mohamed Salah (CPL)

Salah’s penalty against Man. Utd. made it two goals in the last six Gameweeks for the Egyptian international, and as the Opta Stats Sandbox image below shows, despite playing just 269 minutes over that period he is top amongst midfielders for SiB (17), second for ‘big chances’ (five) and third for xG (3.32). Liverpool have found the back of the net nine times over the last six Gameweeks (11th) but are top for shots (128), SiB (83) and xG (13.08). Their visitors Palace have conceded 10 goals (16th) over the same period and have kept no clean sheets. The Eagles are ranked seventh for SiB conceded (45) and eighth for xGC (7.79). Cole Palmer (EVE)

No player across all positions has scored more goals than Palmer (six) over the last six Gameweeks, and the 21-year-old is top amongst midfielders for shots (29), SoT (14) and xG (3.83). The young English star is also top for attempted assists (20) and second for ‘Expected Assists’ (xA) (2.84). As the below image from our Transfer Analytics feature shows, he is the most transferred in player this week. Chelsea have scored 13 goals over the last six Gameweeks (first) with only Fulham (107) and Liverpool (128) managing more shots than their 96. Visitors, Everton, have conceded eight goals over the aforementioned period and have only kept one clean sheet. The Toffees are ranked seventh for shots conceded (63) and 12th for xGC (9.11). Kai Havertz (AVL)

Havertz is flourishing in a centre-forward role for Arsenal with three goals and three assists over the last six Gameweeks. As the below image from our Opta Player Heatmaps feature shows, he has racked up 43 FPL points over that period, at an average of 8.6 FPL points per appearance with only Palmer (58) managing more. He is top amongst Arsenal players for SiB (10), SoT (seven), BC (three) and xG (2.29) over that period. The creativity numbers have been excellent as well, with the German international also top for BC created (three) and xA (1.48). Arsenal have scored 13 goals over the last six Gameweeks (first) and are ranked fifth for SiB (56). Their visitors Villa have struggled defensively of late and have conceded 14 goals over the last six Gameweeks (19th). The Midlands side are ranked 17th for xGC (11.75) over that period. Andrew Robertson (CPL)

Robertson notched an assist in his first start since Gameweek 25 and the Scottish international will be keen to play a pivotal role in Liverpool’s title race. Despite just 209 minutes over the last six Gameweeks, he is joint-top amongst defenders for chances created (12), top for BC created (four) and xA (1.62). Liverpool have conceded just five goals (second) over the last six Gameweeks and have kept one clean sheet. The Merseyside outfit are second for both SiB conceded (29) and xGC (4.38). Their opponents Palace have scored just five goals over the last six Gameweeks and are bottom for SoT (14). Meanwhile, only Brighton (3.76) have registered a lower xG than the Eagles (5.47).
