In this blog the Top Five Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Key Players for Double Gameweek 36 are discussed. Every FPL Gameweek, picks will be in the below format:

Erling Haaland (WOL)

Haaland will be looking to spearhead Man. City’s title charge as the reigning Champions welcome Wolves to the Etihad Stadium. Despite just four appearances in the last six Gameweeks, the Norwegian international has found the back of the net three times and is ranked fourth for ‘Expected Goals’ (xG) (3.29). As the Opta Stats Sandbox image below shows, he is ranked third for ‘big chances’ (BC) (seven) with only Mateta (nine) and Isak (10) faring better. Man. City have scored 19 goals over the last six Gameweeks (first) and are ranked second for shots (117). Their opponents Wolves have conceded 11 goals over the same period (12th) and are ranked 10th for ‘Expected Goals Conceded’ (xGC) (8.97). Bukayo Saka (BOU)

Saka served FPL managers a reminder of his quality with a goal and an assist against Spurs last weekend. Over the last six Gameweeks the 22-year-old is ranked eighth for shots in the box (SiB) (15) and ninth for chances created (15) amongst midfielders. As the below image from our Opta Player Heatmaps feature shows, he has averaged 6.1 FPL points per game at home over the aforementioned period. Arsenal have scored 15 goals over the last six Gameweeks (third) and the Gunners are also ranked third for SiB (84). Their visitors Bournemouth have conceded seven goals over the same period (fourth) and have kept three clean sheets. The Cherries are ranked fifth for shots conceded (73) and sixth for xGC (7.60). Cole Palmer (WHU)

Palmer failed to find the back of the net against Villa, but no player across the league has scored more goals (nine) than the 21-year-old over the last six Gameweeks. As the Opta Stats Sandbox image below shows, he is ranked top for shots (31), shots on target (SoT) (16), BC (nine) and xG (6.14) amongst midfielders over this period. Chelsea have scored 16 goals over the last six Gameweeks (second) and are top for BC (22). Their opponents West Ham have conceded 15 goals over the same period (18th) and have kept no clean sheets. Brereton Diaz (NFO)

Despite Sheff. Utd.’s struggles, Diaz has impressed with three goals over the last six Gameweeks. Looking at midfielders, only Palmer (16) has registered more shots on target (SoT) than Diaz (12) during this timeframe and the Chilean international is also sixth for xG (2.95). As the below image from the Predicted Lineups feature shows, he is expected to start up front for the Blades in McBurnie's absence. Sheff. Utd. have scored 10 goals over the last six Gameweeks (10th) and are also ranked 10th for BC (14). Their opponents Forest have conceded 11 goals over the same period (12th) and have kept no clean sheets. The Nottingham side are ranked sixth for shots conceded (75) and second for xGC (6.23). Ben White (BOU)

The top scoring defensive asset with 168 FPL points, White has created 17 chances (seventh) in home matches and notched two assists. He has also scored two goals at the Emirates and landed five attempts on target. Arsenal have conceded just four goals (first) over the last six Gameweeks and have kept five clean sheets. The Gunners are ranked second for SiB conceded (64) and fourth for xGC (6.91). Their visitors Bournemouth have scored nine goals over the last six Gameweeks (12th) and are ranked ninth for SiB (58).
