Liverpool sit top of the Fixture Difficulty Ratings with an opening fixture at promoted club Ipswich followed by home games against Brentford, Forest and Bournemouth in Gameweek 2, 4 and five. The Merseyside outfit will be helmed by new manager Slot after Klopp's departure and the German will be looking to start off on a positive note.
Fulham sit second with the Gameweek 2-4 run against Leicester, Ipswich and West Ham the main draw. As the image from our Opta Stats Sandbox feature below shows, the Cottagers were particularly potent at Craven Cottage last season and were ranked ninth for goals scored at home (31).
Southampton have the best fixtures of the promoted bunch with the two home games against Forest and Ipswich vital for the South Coast side in their bid for survival.
Forest have a great Gameweek 1-3 run with games against Bournemouth, Southampton and Wolves but the schedule toughens up after with trips to Liverpool and Brighton. FPL managers might look to hop off their assets around then.
Newcastle start their season with a home game against Southampton and have a good run until Gameweek six when they face Man. City, although the game against the reigning Champions is at St James Park and the Magpies will fancy giving them a fight.
Everton have a mixed bag of fixtures, their home games against Brighton and Bournemouth in Gameweek 1 and 3 respectively appeal but they have trips to Spurs and Villa either side of that. FPL managers investing in the likes of Mykolenko or Tarkowski should look to rotate their assets for those two away trips.
Liverpool, Forest and Southampton have good fixtures in defence as well but three teams which were not in the previous image also feature prominently - Villa, Brighton and Palace.
Villa were ranked seventh for goals conceded (61) last season and kept eight clean sheets. As the below image from our AI Rotation Optimizer shows, the Midlands side have a great rotation with Newcastle and both teams offer options at just 4.5m.
Brighton are a bit of an unknown quantity under the new manager and there are some tricky trips to Arsenal and Chelsea but an asset like Dunk at just £4.5m can be rotated for those games.
Palace's wingbacks Mitchell and Munoz have been priced at £5.0m each but their centre-backs are good value at £4.5m, the Gameweek 2 and 4 fixtures against West Ham and leicester look particularly appealing.
West Ham have the worst start to the campaign with games against Villa, Man. City and Chelsea in the first six. Wolves also play Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool over the aforementioned period.
Spurs' fixtures are a mixed bag, the games against Leicester, Everton and Brentford are decent but the matches against Newcastle, Arsenal and Man. Utd. less so. The promoted duo of Leicester and Ipswich are probably best avoided at the start with them sitting 16th and 17th for Fixture Difficulty.
Chelsea are an interesting one, they start off at home against the reigning Champions Man. City but the schedule improves thereafter with no games against last season's top six over Gameweeks 2-6.
