Fantasy Premier League's highest priced midfielder, Salah, tops the projections for the first six weeks by a significant margin. With Saka and Son in second and third respectively. Three Man. City midfielders - namely Grealish, De Bruyne and Mahrez - also feature prominently, with the England international top of the trio. Saka appears to be the clear pick amongst the Arsenal midfielders, with Ødegaard and Martinelli behind him.

A look at the above image from our Stats Sandbox feature, shows that five of the top eight projected scoring midfielders were in the top six for 'Expected FPL Points' (xFPL) last season. Marcus Rashford is the notable omission. Interestingly, Salah and B. Fernandes were the only two to score fewer FPL points than their xFPL score, which suggests that their FPL scores from last season could improve in 2023/24.

A look at the above image from our Fix Comparison Matrix shows why Grealish is the top projected scoring Man. City midfielder. He averaged more minutes than Mahrez or Foden, and tops the comparison for FPL assists (0.4), shots (1.5) and attempted assists (1.8). However, Foden spent a lot of the last campaign injured - and with speculation around Mahrez' future - it is possible that the England international gets more minutes in 2023/24. His comparison topping average of 4.4 FPL points, 0.3 goals and 0.7 shots on target, indicate that he could be a great option this season.
