In Fantasy Premier League, managers create a squad of 15 players, but only 11 can start each gameweek.
The remaining four players are on the bench and will not score points unless one of the starting 11 does not play at all during that gameweek.
To make substitutions on the FPL desktop site, navigate to the 'Pick Team' tab. For example, if you want to substitute Harry Winks with Mohamed Salah, click on either player's name.
A box will appear around players eligible for the 'switch' as shown below, notice the defenders are not highlighted as there are three forwards and FPL postion rules must be adhered to.
To confirm your changes, click the 'Save Your Team' button below your FPL squad. This process also applies when changing your FPL captain and vice-captain.
Using the official FPL app, making substitutions is straightforward.
When you select a player you want to substitute, their profile box appears instead of a box. Tap 'Substitute', then choose the player you want to bring in or take out. The change will be shown on the screen. To finalise, options to 'Confirm' or 'Cancel' will appear at the top. Tap 'Confirm' to save your changes.
