The Emerging Template & Chasing Price Rises

Craig acknowledges the current FPL landscape, stating, "There's a strong template emerging, which is probably why so many Wildcards are being played — mine won’t be much different." This is further reflected by ten of the Elite XI: Team Reveal managers also opting to play their Wildcard chips.

Regarding his strategy, Craig reveals, "I'll be chasing the elusive £0.2m risers throughout the week, so my team won't be finalised until the week's end." This tactic of maximising team value on a Wildcard involves using the Price Change Predictor tool to track players likely to rise or fall in price.

FPL Defensive Stalwarts

Craig's Wildcard backline features two standout defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold and Gabriel.

Alexander Arnold attempted assists

Liverpool's Alexander-Arnold, priced at £7.1m, has already notched up 32 points this season. His attacking potential is evident, with 13 attempted assists, as shown in the Opta Heatmaps tool, and 4 big chances created, showcasing his value beyond clean sheets.

Arsenal's Gabriel, at £6.1m, has continued to be an invaluable FPL asset, amassing 36 points with 2 goals already. His expected goals (xG) of 1.44 suggests he's been making the most of his opportunities from set-pieces.

Premier League projected clean sheets for Gameweeks 6 to 8

Only Liverpool (1) have conceded fewer goals than Arsenal (3) so far this season. The Gunners are also projected to keep the most clean sheets (1.7) over the next three gameweeks, according to the Predicted Points & Stats tool.

FPL Midfield Maestros

In midfield, Craig has opted for some intriguing picks. Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers, a budget-friendly option at £5.2m, has been quietly impressive. With 2 FPL assists, 4 big chances created, and an expected assists (xA) of 2.23, Rogers offers excellent value. Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford has been a standout performer, accumulating 34 points with 4 goals. His 7 shots on target from 10 attempts demonstrate his clinical nature in front of goal.

Rogers and Mbeumo predicted points

Both midfielders are projected to score well in the upcoming gameweeks. You can easily add players' predicted points to the official Fantasy Premier League website using the free Chrome extension, FPL Plus.

The Haaland Factor

Haaland FPL stats

Up front, it’s no surprise to see Erling Haaland leading the line. The Manchester City striker has been in stunning form, scoring 63 points with 10 goals and averaging an impressive 12.6 points per game, as shown in the Opta Player Heatmaps tool. His 19 shots on target from 26 attempts highlight his ruthless efficiency.

Potential Wildcard Additions

Craig is reportedly considering several players to complete his squad. Aston Villa's Ezri Konsa (£4.5m) could provide valuable defensive cover, having already scored once this season. Manchester City's Rico Lewis (£4.7m) is an intriguing budget option, with one assist and the potential for more playtime due to Rodri's injury. Up front, Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£6.0m) is showing signs of a return to form, with 2 goals and 1 assist, along with an impressive xG of 1.83.

FPL Wildcard Dilemma

He will be considering the balance between proven performers and potential differentials. The inclusion of in-form players like Haaland and Mbeumo provides a solid foundation, while the likes of Rogers and Lewis present interesting alternatives to more popular picks.
