GW11 Top Three Captaincy Picks

Fantasy Football Fix 3 Nov. 2021

Caveat - Picks are in below format

  1. No.1 predicted by Fix
  2. Alternative high-ownership option. Over 20%
  3. Differential option. Under 20%

Mohamed Salah (whu)

The Golden boot favourite Salah has scored five goals over the last four gameweeks and is top for shots in the box (SiB) (13), shots on target (SoT) (nine) and 'big chances' (five) amongst midfielders. He is also top for 'big chances' created (five). No team has scored more goals than Liverpool (14) over the last four gameweeks and the Reds are also top for 'big chances' (16). Their opponents West Ham have conceded just three goals over the last four gameweeks, keeping two clean sheets. The Hammers are ranked fifth for shots conceded (44) and sixth for SoT conceded (15) but they did play Brentford, Everton, Spurs and Leeds over the aforementioned period, and playing the rampant Reds is likely to prove a much stiffer challenge. Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 6.3 for Salah.

Jamie Vardy (lee)

Vardy has notched two goals over the last four gameweeks, only Hwang, King and Firmino (all three) have been more prolific amongst forwards over the last four gameweeks. As the below image from our Match Stats feature shows, over the last five league games Vardy is top amongst Leicester players for goals (four), Expected Goals (xG) (1.8) and SoT (six) while he also ranks third for attempted assists (five). Leicester have scored eight goals over the last four gameweeks, only Liverpool and Chelsea (each 14) have found the back of the net more often. No team has registered more SoT (30) than the Foxes over this period of five league games. Their hosts Leeds have conceded just three goals over the last four gameweeks and are ranked second for SoT conceded (12) and first for 'big chances' conceded (12). However, they have had a favourable fixture run over that period with games against Watford, Southampton, Wolves and Norwich who have struggled to find the back of the net. Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 5.2 for Vardy.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (WAT)

Arsenal have revived their season after a disappointing start and Aubameyang has played a big part. Over the last four gameweeks, only Antonio, Ronaldo and Watkins (each nine) have taken more SiB amongst forwards than his eight, while only Benteke (five) has been afforded more 'big chances' than his four. As the Stats Sandbox image shows below, no forward has landed more SoT (six) over these last four gameweeks. The Gunners have also scored seven goals over this time and are ranked sixth for SiB (36) and fourth for SoT (22). Watford have conceded nine goals over the same period, only Man. Utd (10) and Villa (12) have been more porous. Meanwhile, Villa (69) are the only team to have conceded more shots than the Hornets (66). Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 5.7 for the Gabon international.
