As the deadline looms closer, it is time to decide what to do with our precious free transfer(s). Aside from playing chips or selecting a captain, our transfers are the single most important aspect of our FPL campaign, and the importance of getting it right cannot be overstated.
In this article we crunch the numbers, analyse the fixtures, take advice from the Algorithm, and decide which player to buy, which player to sell, and which player to keep for Gameweek 12.

It seems strange, at this point in the season, to be recommending a player who we would all normally own, but it is with good reason that many of us have turned our backs on The Egyptian King.
First, Liverpool had good fixtures but their players were offering abject performances. Then the fixtures turned ugly as well. Mohamed Salah (£12.7m) – who is owned by just 7.9% of managers in the Top 100k (Insight Live) – was simply too expensive to justify the returns.

Now it feels as if the tides are turning. Liverpool is about to enter a period of easy fixtures, on the back of a convincing win over rivals Manchester City, who the Reds were not expected to get a result against (based on recent evidence). There is much to be said for Salah’s prospects in a seemingly more centralized attacking role and, let us not forget, that even at his worst, Salah still delivers big numbers.
Despite this season's shortcomings, Salah is ranked 2nd for attempted assists (26), 6th for xG (4.45) and 7th for xA (2.06) and xFPL Points (54.44). In addition, Liverpool is ranked top for attack fixture difficulty over the next five Gameweeks according to our Fixture Planner.
We've helped over half-a-million people become better FPL managers.
