GW13 Top Three Captaincy Picks

Fantasy Football Fix 25 Nov. 2021

Caveat - Picks are in below format

  1. No.1 predicted by Fix
  2. Alternative high-ownership option. Over 20%
  3. Differential option. Under 20%

Mohamed Salah (SOU)

Salah has scored four goals in the last four gameweeks and tops the numbers amongst midfielders for shots (15), shots in the box (SiB) (12) and 'big chances' (five). He is also top for 'big chances' created (three). Liverpool have scored 13 goals over that same period and only Chelsea (14) have found the back of the net more often. Chelsea (49) and Man. City (52) are the only teams to have attempted more SiB (46) than the Reds. Their opponents Southampton have conceded just four goals in the last four gameweeks and are fifth for shots on target (SoT) conceded (15). However, it is worth mentioning that they played Burnley, Watford, Villa and Norwich over that period and playing Liverpool at Anfield is a different prospect altogether. Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 8.6 for Salah.

Reece James (MUN)

With three goals, two assists and three clean sheets, R. James has scored more Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points (53) than any player across the league over the last four gameweeks. Only Rüdiger (seven) has taken more SiB than his six amongst defenders while only Cancelo (six) has landed more SoT than his four. As the Stats Sandbox image below shows, only Gallagher (13) has attempted more assists than his 12 across all positions. Chelsea's clean sheet prospects look good, with Leicester, Everton (three each) and Spurs (two) the only clubs to have scored fewer goals than their opponents Man. Utd (four) over the last four gameweeks. Spurs (eight) are the one team to have landed fewer SoT than the Red Devils' 11 during this time. In terms of attacking potential, Chelsea's numbers are excellent. No team has scored more goals (14) than the London side and they are second for SiB (49). Man. Utd have conceded 11 goals over the same period and are ranked 19th for 'big chances' conceded (12). Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 4.5 for the right-back.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (NEW)

Aubameyang has notched just one goal over the last four gameweeks but has posted good underlying numbers. Just Ronaldo (11), King (14) and Benteke (15) have attempted more SiB amongst forwards than his nine, while he is also third for 'big chances' (four), and forward has landed more SoT than his seven. He is owned by just 1.2% of the top 100k squads as per our FPL Statistics feature making him a massive differential. Arsenal have scored six goals over the last four gameweeks and their total of 23 SoT is only bettered by Liverpool (25), Man. City (27) and Chelsea (30). Their opponents Newcastle have conceded eight goals over the same period, keeping no clean sheets. Arsenal, Man. Utd (12 each) and Everton (15) are the three sides to have allowed opponents more 'big chances' than the Magpies (11). Our Fix Algorithm currently projects a point score of 5.3 for the Gabon international.
