If you are the sort of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) manager who enjoys going against the grain – or takes satisfaction from finding hidden gems before the crowd – then lowly selected players (differentials) can often provide value and offer a source of points which won’t be shared by many other managers. As long as the player picks are justifiable, differentials can give you an edge over your mini-league rivals.
In this article we look ahead to Gameweek 30 and find players from each position who are currently selected by less than 10% of managers, but could reward their owners in the upcoming Gameweeks.

With good fixtures between now and Gameweek 33, Tyrone Mings (£4.4m) makes a strong case to be your differential defender this Gameweek, with a home game against Nottingham Forest.
Unai Emery’s transformation of Aston Villa has been nothing short of remarkable, and Mings has been solid at the back for his new Spanish manager. From an FPL perspective, he is a nailed-on asset who has played the full 90 minutes each time he has started. He has only blanked twice in his last 6 appearances, picking up 4 clean sheets, an assist and 8 bonus points in that period.
According to Opta Stats Sandbox, only Ollie Watkins (£7.5m) has more xFPL Points than Mings’ 106.81 total this season. For just £4.4m, he is an absolute bargain and, for those who are not planning to use their Free Hit in blank Gameweek 32, he faces Brentford when a number of teams have no fixture at all.
We've helped over half-a-million people become better FPL managers.
