GW38 Five Key Differentials

Fantasy Football Fix 24 May 2023

In this blog, five players with Live Ownership under 15% are analysed using the Fix Comparison Matrix over the last six gameweeks to determine the best picks for one final push up the mini-leagues. Averages are used since certain players have played more minutes than others.

Heung-Min Son (lee)

Son tops the comparison for FPL points per game (4.3) and goals (0.3). The underlying numbers are strong for the South Korean international as well, he is top for 'big chances' (BC) per game (1.0) and second for shots (2.2). As the below image from our Stats Sandbox feature shows, Leeds have conceded 14 goals over the last six gameweeks and are bottom for 'Expected Goals Conceded' (xGC) (13.46).

Cody Gakpo (sou)

Gakpo (4.0) is second only to Son for FPL points per game in the comparison but has found the back of the net only once over the last six gameweeks. He has managed two assists as well and is second in the comparison for attempted assists (2.0) per game. Only Spurs (17) have conceded more goals than Southampton (16) over the aforementioned period.

Michael Olise (NFO)

Olise has averaged 3.3 FPL points per game over the last six gameweeks but has relied only on assists for his output, notching two over that time. As the below image from our Match Stats feature shows, over Palace's last five matches only Eze (12) has created more chances than his 11 while he is also second for shots on target (SoT) (four).

James Maddison (WHU)

Maddison has averaged a healthy 4.0 points per game over the last six gameweeks and boasts outstanding underlying numbers. The midfielder is top for assists (0.6), shots (2.8), SoT (1.2), attempted assists (2.6) and BC created (0.8). No team has allowed opponents more shots than his opponents West Ham (124) over the last six gameweeks, the Hammers have shipped 12 goals and only kept two clean sheets over that period.

Leandro Trossard (WOL)

Martinelli's injury woes mean that Trossard should see a start on the left-wing for the Gunners on the final day, the Belgian has played only 272 minutes over the last six gameweeks with many of these appearances coming as a substitute. This naturally means his underlying numbers are quite poor with just 0.8 shots and 1.0 attempted assists per game. However, the Gunners will want to end the campaign on a high and only Man. City (60) have scored more goals on home turf than the London side this season (48).
