In this blog Man. City's best Fantasy Premier League (FPL) assets are analysed ahead of their season opener against West Ham.
The Fix Predicted Lineups feature expects the reigning Champions to lineup similar to last season with Ederson in goal and the full-back duo of Walker and Cancelo on either side of Stones and Dias. Laporte has been nursing an injury issue, Dias (95%) is rated more likely to start than Stones (63%) who is competing with Ake for the second centre-back slot. At just 5.0, Walker could be a great pick with Zinchenko now at Arsenal and the Champions having only two senior full-backs.
In midfield, B. Silva (45%) is considered most at risk but Guardiola is likely to put his trust in the Portuguese international at the start. Up top, Mahrez (94%) and Haaland (99%) are considered very likely to start but the Algorithm is a bit less certain on Grealish (63%) who might be challenged by Foden for a starting berth.
As the above image shows, Man. City are ranked second on our Fixture Planner for the first six gameweeks and they are an important team to invest in from an FPL perspective, both in defence and attack.
The Custom Stats table image above is sorted by “FPL Value Added Per Million (VAPM)” and Cancelo (19.5) emerges as the best value for money asset. The Portugal international underperformed his 'Expected Goals' by 3.2 as well last season so his attacking returns are only expected to improve. Dias (14.1) and Ederson (13.4) also represent excellent bang for buck and this table illustrates the value in the Man. City backline.
In attack, Bernardo (12.4) tops the VAPM table but De Bruyne (12.0) is not too far behind despite his significantly higher price-tag of 12.0. Coupled with his security of starts, it really emphasises that he is the Man. City attacker to own. Foden (10.8) and Mahrez (10.7) rank significantly lower and there might be better value for money elsewhere.
