Fee - £67M
Position: Goalkeeper
Last season's form: 37 Appearances / 18 Clean Sheets / 2.9 Saves Per Game
Liverpool have pushed their summer spending over the £150M mark with the capture of Allison and in doing so set a new world record fee for a goalkeeper at £67M. The Brazilian was considered by many as the most important player in Serie A last season such was his influence on Roma's performances and results. Whilst making saves and keeping clean sheets was obviously his main strength, he contributed offensively too, frequently launching attacks and even dribbling out of defence.
Handed a £5.5M price tag in FPL Allison comes in at £0.5M more than either Karius or Mignolet, indicating Liverpool's rearguard have risen in quality in the eyes of the game's makers. Whilst the Brazilian will prove a popular pick, he'll have to rival the likes of Ederson and Lloris for selection. Allison's command of the 'sweeper-keeper' role, however, fits perfectly into Jurgen Klopp's pressing game, allowing the defence to push high up the pitch. This bodes well for The Red's other defensive options and, in particular, Andrew Robertson, whose already promising fantasy potential will be boosted even further.
