Ederson's league form over the last two seasons make it abundantly clear that he is a stopper who is able to enhance a defence. Managing to keep clean sheets in 65% of his league games since debuting for Benfica in 15/16 at the tender age of 22-years-old is remarkable. Ederson rose to prominence when dovetailing with his mentor and club teammate, Julio Cesar, in the 15/16 season, but soon began to outshine the Brazilian legend, surpassing Cesar's clean sheet performance, which reads 15 clean sheets in 32 games, from the same period. The speed in which Ederson comes off his line is a stand out feature to his game, and the young Brazilian is an exceptionally accomplished close-range shot stopper with fantastic reflexes. He also possesses great passing ability, which Pep seeks from his Goalkeepers, and often looks to spray 50-yard passes to a teammate with precision. A welcome addition for Man. City given their well documented struggles between the sticks last season.
